Managing Construction in Occupied Spaces
50% of our instructions are for refurbishment projects in occupied offices. It takes a different skill set to be able to manage a project with sensitivity whilst the company remains in situ. We seamlessly coordinate your project plans, communicating with your staff using zonal drawings, so they are clear when we are arriving in their area to undertake work. The area of construction is always barriered from the working office, so your staff continue to remain safe. With the client’s approval, we communicate the project plans to the building management and other tenants who are adjacent to your floors. The projects are managed with particular sensitivity, looking to mitigate, noise, dust and disruption. Our aim is to allow your business to continue operating safely, comfortably and with minimum disruption to the workflow.
We have extensive knowledge of working in towers, dealing with sprinklers, central BMS systems and complex lighting controls. Our site crews are used to distributing materials safely by whatever routes are available. If we have to move your staff on a temporary basis, we take the time to plan this move so we can reduce disruption to a minimum. Some noisy works can be required in a fit out. If this is the case, we pre plan these activities carefully keeping the landlord and other tenants informed.
Health, Safety and Sustainability
Every project is overseen by a dedicated Cityspace site manager, and we work with a long-established trusted supply chain of trade contractors who have partnered with us for over 15 years. This consistency, combined with our structured approach to design, build and delivery, ensures the product delivered is of the highest quality.
Our construction sites are now recycling 99% of all the generated construction waste so only 1% is heading for landfill. The amount sent to landfill has been reducing each year, and we are still trying to improve upon the current results.
We provide a full move management service for furniture and removals. We can arrange for your items to be stored off site and returned in phases. To help further with your sustainability plans, we can reupholster soft furnishing and provide French polishers to rectify scratched joinery. If your furniture is no longer required, we can arrange for trade bids to repurpose the redundant furniture thus avoiding landfill.
