Client Brief
Cityspace have worked with Hitachi Rail since 2004. At the time of this project, Hitachi Rail had doubled staff numbers and were evolving at a rapid rate. Cityspace were appointed to relocate 100 staff to a new site in Holborn, whilst taking into consideration anticipated growth in staff numbers.

Design Challenges & Considerations
Hitachi Rail were expanding at a rapid rate to become one of Europe’s leading railway system suppliers. Cityspace were challenged to adapt a small office area to a desirable and functional workspace, for a large number of people. Our designer created a large open plan office with three staff refreshment points. The new office space included a 24 person boardroom with full AV/IT functionality to meet the business’ global communication requirements.

Cityspace carefully introduced brand colours throughout the space via the flooring, furniture and reception materials selected.  

Key Project Achievements
A key project achievement was the design and build of a ‘front of house’ meeting room suite for confidential meetings. Hitachi Rail were involved in numerous meetings with Network Rail and other train franchises. The suite design, met privacy and technology requirements, whilst keeping within the Hitachi brand guidelines.
